Features, Sizes & Intended Use of the Apollo Tramplr XR
The Apollo Tramplr XR combines modern adventure tire technology with a wide range of sizes and a clearly defined use case. Key features include an aggressive adventure tread with W‑shaped grooves, stone ejectors for self‑cleaning off‑road, and a zero‑degree steel radial construction that reduces deformation and provides stable grip under braking and in lean. Visually, the XR stands out with its compass‑style tread design and Silk‑Route sidewall, emphasizing its adventure character.
Its intended use clearly sits in the 70/30 adventure segment: mostly road, but with noticeable reserves for gravel, forest roads, broken roads, and light off‑road terrain.
Available Sizes
The tire is offered in numerous adventure‑relevant dimensions, including: 110/70 R17, 130/80 R17, 150/60 R17, 140/70 R17, 120/80 R18, 90/90‑19, 100/90‑19, and 90/90‑21.
This covers typical models such as the Himalayan 450/411, KTM Adventure 250/390, BMW G 310 GS, V‑Strom SX 250, XPulse 200/210, and many more.

Apollo Tramplr XR Test
The Apollo Tramplr XR comes stock on the 2025 KTM Adventure X. Here’s how it performed on‑road and off‑road during our test in South Tyrol.
Dry Grip
On dry pavement, the Tramplr XR delivers solid, predictable grip. For everyday riding, the grip is absolutely sufficient without notable strengths or weaknesses. The tire behaves consistently and offers enough reserves for relaxed touring.
Dry Off‑road Grip: On dry gravel, the XR performs reasonably well. Traction and lateral grip are okay, but in more demanding terrain – such as coarse rocks, loose sand, or steep climbs – the tire reaches its limits quickly. The tread is clearly designed for light off‑road use.
Wet Grip
In the wet, the Tramplr XR remains rideable but without standout performance. Grip is acceptable as long as you ride defensively. For sporty lean angles or very wet conditions, it lacks the final bit of confidence, so riding with some margin is recommended.
Wet Off‑road Grip: In wet off‑road conditions, the XR is barely usable. Mud, deep soil, or wet roots overwhelm the tread quickly. Traction drops off fast, and the tire clogs easily. It is not suitable for off‑road riding in the rain.
Braking Performance
Braking performance is overall okay. The tire decelerates predictably and without notable weaknesses. For everyday adventure riding in the entry‑level segment, it is fully adequate.
Ride Comfort
Ride comfort is good and unobtrusive. The XR absorbs bumps well and rides pleasantly without harsh impacts or vibrations. A solid everyday tire.
Tire Wear
Wear is relatively low. The Tramplr XR appears durable and wears evenly, making it attractive for commuters and touring riders.
Mileage
We cannot yet give a final mileage figure. After around 800 km, the tire still looks very good. The final mileage will be published in our magazine.
Stability / Cornering Stability
Overall stability and cornering behavior are neutral. The tire is neither exceptionally stable nor particularly agile; it remains predictable and calm in lean. For everyday adventure use, it delivers a solid, unspectacular level without noticeable quirks.
Agility / Turn‑in Behavior
Turn‑in is clean and uncomplicated. Direction changes are smooth and without delay, giving the tire a pleasantly agile feel in normal road use. It responds directly enough to feel natural without becoming nervous.
Uprighting Moment
The tendency to stand up under braking in lean is minimal. The tire stays largely neutral and only shows a slight inclination to straighten up – an effect that can vary depending on the motorcycle’s geometry. Overall, the behavior is well‑controlled and not bothersome.
Tire Pressure
We rode the Apollo Tramplr XR exclusively with the stock tire pressure recommended for the KTM Adventure X and had no reason to adjust it. For permanent two‑up riding, increasing rear pressure slightly is recommended.
Apollo Tramplr XR Rider Experiences
The Apollo Tramplr XR is an okay tire for beginners and everyday use. It doesn’t excel at anything, but it doesn’t fail anywhere either – a classic “solid average tire” that works reliably as long as you stay within its intended use. In rough terrain, it has no chance; it simply lacks the tread structure and traction. In wet off‑road conditions, it becomes practically unusable. But that’s not what it’s built for. For commuters, everyday touring, and light gravel, it delivers uncomplicated, dependable performance without surprises.
